All research abstracts to be submitted shall have relevance to the World Health Organization’s Eastern Mediterranean Region, and focus on one of the following topics:

1. Respiratory disease surveillance and laboratory capacity
2. Influenza disease burden
3. Outbreak investigations and response
4. MERS-CoV and other re-emerging respiratory infections
5. Influenza vaccination
6. Pandemic preparedness and response
7. Influenza at the human-animal interface
8. Biosafety and security
